So, we haven't found Ethan's snake yet. He was awake practically all night worrying about it. He thought he saw it at about 4:30 am, he came to get us and when we got to his room...nothing. I'm not sure if he really saw it or he was dreaming or seeing things.
Ethan found the second snake in the garage and I helped him get it into a box. Kevin does not like touching or trying to catch snakes. Unfortunately, Kevin wants Ethan to keep the second snake if we do not find the first. We don't know what kind of snake it is, my dad's first guess was that it was a baby rattler, my mom thinks milk snake. I don't want any snakes anymore!

Oh no...baby rattler...you know those are more dangerous than adults...because an adult will bite you just enough to get you away, but babies have no control over their venom. YIKES! I don't know a ton about snakes but I goggled it and from your picture it might be a Banded California Kingsnake...at least it's not venomous.

If I were you (and I'm definitely not Mom of the Year but...) I would tell Ethan that the new snake "accidentally" escaped while he was at school and then I'd make him feel better by getting him a cute and cuddly pet that doesn't make my skin crawl. :)
Gina, I think you're right! It really looks like a CA Kingsnake! Some of the info on the web said they shake their tails like a rattler as a bluff, even though their not venomous. Thanks for the info.

Don't get rid of the new snake, we can give it to Greg Welt. The guy that gave us a really good deal on the now lost snake. And he's a boy he doesn't want a cuddly pet, he wants a pet that eats other pets. Maybe next time I'll get him a scorpion, it would be much less likely to get loose.\

I give you props girl for even having a reptile in your house. They seriously make me all nervous inside. I don't think I could ever do that.
